Costume: (Lady Waterlow) "...gown of old-gold silken lace, that has part of its design outlined with rich embroidery of amber and white diamanté and bugles. It is posed over an underslip of fine needlerun lace in the same tint, similar to that forming the long cascading side panels of the dress. Miniature marguerites of amber and white diamanté make the belt that encircles the waist at a normal line, and also the shoulder-straps. The train of rich old-gold chiffon velvet scintiliates with exquisite embroidery in a design mingling roses and thistles, and a lining of gleaming gold lamé is an appropriate finishing touch" (The Morning Post, 9 November 1929, p 8d).(Maids of Honour) "...frocks of silken tulle, which repeat the old-gold shade of the Lady Mayoress's gown, have simple-cut bodices enriched with embroidery of golden paillettes. On the long, full skirts, which dip slightly at the back, appear innumerable narrow panels, which flutter gracefully at each movement of the wearers" (The Morning Post, 9 November 1929, p 8d).(Girl train-bearer) "...a fascinating little picture frock of the same old-gold tulle. It has a simple little bodice, bouffante skirt, and an embroidered waistband of diamanté" (The Morning Post, 9 November 1929, p 8d). (Boy train-bearer) A kilt.
